Height
- 3.1 m. (10ft 4in) travertine The saint is dressed in
the habit of the Trinitarians, which he founded, characterized
by the emblem of the cross. He holds in his left hand a chain,
which alludes to the redemption of prisoners, for which he
worked during his lifetime.
St John
of Matha was the founder of the Order of the Most Holy
Trinity, which was dedicated to ransoming captive Christians.
